Buyers should not make any payments before receiving the item. Sellers should not send an item before receiving payment. Always exchange goods and payment simultaneously.

Meet in a Public Place

When meeting a buyer or seller for the first time, choose a public, well-lit location. Consider bringing a friend or family member along, and let someone know where you are going.

Use Common Sense

Avoid anything that appears too good to be true, such as unrealistically low prices and promises of quick money. Trust your instincts and walk away from deals that feel uncomfortable.

Never Give Out Financial Information

Never share your bank account details, credit card numbers, or any other financial information with other users on the platform. FindCo will never ask you for your password or financial details.

While Applying for a Job

Research the job and the employer thoroughly before applying. Do not give out personal information before meeting the employer in person. Avoid going to remote or isolated locations for interviews, and verify that the company is legitimate.

Scams and Frauds to Watch Out For

Fake Information Requests

FindCo never sends emails requesting your personal details, password, or financial information. If you receive an email asking you to provide such information, do not open any links. Report the email to us immediately and delete it.

Requests to Use Money Transfer Services

Be cautious of requests to use money transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram. These services are not designed for transactions between strangers and are frequently used in fraudulent schemes.

Overpayment Scams

Be wary of buyers who offer to pay more than the asking price and request a refund of the difference. This is a common scam tactic. Always insist on the exact agreed amount.

Advance Payment Requests

Never send money upfront for an item you have not received. Scammers often request advance payments for shipping, holding fees, or other fabricated costs.

Email Privacy

Your email address is never displayed on your listings. All communication can be conducted through the platform, ensuring your personal contact details remain private.

Account Security

We use phone number OTP verification for account access, adding an extra layer of security to your account. Never share your OTP with anyone.

Continuous Monitoring

We make constant improvements to our technology to detect and prevent suspicious or inappropriate activity on the platform. We track and block repeat offenders to keep our community safe.

Victim of a Scam?

If you believe you have been the victim of a scam or fraudulent activity on FindCo, please report your situation to us immediately. If you have been cheated, we also recommend that you contact your local police department.

Suspicious Listings

If you come across a listing that appears suspicious, fraudulent, or violates our terms, please report it to us. We review all reports and take appropriate action to protect our community.

Information Sharing with Authorities

FindCo is committed to the privacy of our users and does not share user information publicly. However, we take safety seriously and will cooperate with law enforcement if we receive legitimate requests regarding fraudulent or other criminal activity.
